About the role
This position reports to the Head of Discipline Exercise & Sport Science in the School of Health Sciences and is located on the Fremantle campus. The role comprises of course writing, teaching and research within the field of Exercise and Sport Science, specifically in the domains of Exercise Physiology, Human Anatomy and Biomechanics with the applicant having experience with course writing and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high quality teaching in Exercise and Sport Science, informed by current research and incorporating innovative online learning activities and assessments to promote student engagement and wellbeing.
- Develop and deliver course content across multiple disciplines within Exercise and Sport Science, ensuring academic excellence and relevance to industry standards.
- Maintain active involvement in professional practice, including current registration or eligibility for registration with Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) as an Accredited Exercise Scientist (AES).
- Support the School’s initiatives in marketing, student recruitment, enrolment processes, and course orientation activities.
- Undertake academic and administrative duties related to course delivery, student support, and assessment management.
Qualifications, skills & experience
- Strong commitment to and alignment with the Objects of the University.
- Currently hold or are pursuing a PhD in Exercise and Sport Science, with registration as an Accredited Exercise Scientist (AES) through Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA).
- Demonstrated expertise in teaching and curriculum development within Exercise and Sports Science.
- Proven record of high-level academic teaching performance.
- Ability to integrate industry experience into academic teaching and research.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage diverse academic responsibilities and meet deadlines.
- Experience in curriculum development and teaching in Exercise Physiology, Human Anatomy, and Biomechanics (desirable).
